Small-p-platers

Particularly as a cyclist, I am very concerned with the problem of male P-platers who drive unsafely, and I do indeed believe that if women can be induced to waggle their fingers derisively at same this may have an effect, but what effect will this have on young men trying to come to terms with having a small penis? I think reinforcing the social pressure on men to have penises of a good size is a bad thing, and indeed may contribute to aggressive acting out by young men who indeed do really have small, tremulous members.

Whilst I too am a cyclist, I am vehemently opposed to any legislation that increases prohibitions on young drivers. Why? Because I believe it is an increasing symptom of our agist society designed to disempower young people, and force them to depend on older people. The speed limits are absurd, bizarre, inconsistent and downright dangerous. This is just another cynical grab for money from the RTA because they know that more money is now going back to administrative recuperations.
p.s. Noone who has not gone through these “draconian” measures will ever be able to argue their neccessity to me. I despise them for trying.
p.p.s. Where is the picture from?
p.p.p.s. Is it only male P-Plate drivers that you are concerned with?
p.p.p.p.s.Would you post something in a similar vein about women with small breasts?

I tend to think men under 21 should either be chemically castrated or not allowed to leave their bedroom.
Myth wrote:
Just a thought, but if you replaced “men under 21” with Jews, aborigines, negros, chinamen, women etc. you would be thought of as hateful and discriminatory, but it is apparently alright to say about men?

If women genuinely couldn’t drive around without killing people, I would say that they Saudi Arabians were right. But it so happens it’s young men who can’t. I used to be a young man myself – if my ideological and financial position hadn’t mitigated against car ownership, I have little doubt I would have been an unsafe driver, since I was full of testosterone and didn’t care whether I or other people were killed.

I think calling anyone a “chinaman” is fairly hateful, Patrick, regardless of context.
Myth wrote:
Well for my part, I positively cant see the difference between the use of the word Jew, Chinaman, Irishman, European, Indian, Briton, Alemann, German, so if you find calling someone a Chinaman as fairly hateful than you must find calling anyone by their nationality as somewhat hateful, which it may well be.

But I am struggling to see how so little commentary has been about the fact that an add that demeaned women in the same way, would not only never be sponsored by the government, but never be put to air.
Mark wrote:
Well Pat, that was my original point. I should probably say that my other comments were mostly to wind you up. While castrating all men, as advocated by the Maoist Internationalist Movement, is on the face of it an elegant solution to most of the world’s problems, it would necessitate a level of state repression to enforce that renders it undesirable, although I do believe that that is the only reason it is undesirable, and not because men have a God( or evolution)-given right to be oozing masculinity and aggression.

“Chinaman” is not a nationality, patrick. It is a racial epithet.

“calling anyone a “chinaman” is fairly hateful”, I a not even going to dignify your absurd line of argument with a response. Suffice to say, I grew up reading books that had mostly at the latest been written in the late 60s, and the use of the word Chinaman was liberal, as was the use of the word Englishman, Frenchman, German, Scotishman, Irishman in those works. I think the whole tabooing of words is just stupid, not based on rationality and really annoying. No, I wont call Constantinople Instanbul, or stop using a perfectly legitimate word like Chinaman, that has a perfect and reasonable etymology and a meaning straight off the bat.

EARTH TO PATRICK this is not the 1960s. For most of the 1960s, the Federal Parliament did not have the ability to legislate for indigenous people, many of whom did not have the right to vote. In the 1960s, the white Australia policy was still extant. In the 1960s, racial segregation was legal throughout the American South. In the 1960s, women were officially second class economic citizens, reflected in the propensity to call people from Ireland “Irishmen” rather than merely “Irish”.

Funny how the people getting their knickers in a knot over a 1980s commercial that demeans women, are the same ones jumping for joy over a 2007 commercial that demeans men.
Hypocrisy, thy name is Leftism.

Who are these alleged ‘Leftists’ who are doing what now? Given that I am a leftist, and I put this post up, and it is complaining about the degradation of men in an ad, I do wonder what you’re on, mate.

I don’t think you’re sincere, Mark. Not even a little bit.
Your comments in this thread leave little room for doubt as to your sexist attitude.
