Muslims falling foul of dangerous cult
There is a growing danger in our society, a menace that is sweeping the muslim community of Sydney and it is time we talked about it, openly and without fear of reprisals.
I must note that only a small minority of muslims are in any way implicated in this alien, fascist and imperialist cult whose spread is destroying traditional values in this state.
I say again - NOT ALL MUSLIMS ARE EVIL but community leaders should be doing something about this and not condoning, or particpating, in its activities.

cute jason. i just love the tele’s headline for the story - ‘up there hilaly’

That is a pretty good headline.
I disagree though - I think it’s great that he’s embracing true Australian values rather than some corrupted ‘sport’ from the English Midlands.
As a Freo supporter, I say GO SWANNIES!!!

hahahaha - nice one FDB. I suppose you believe the story about AFL being an aboriginal game too :P
Corrupted?
Evolved :o)
GO STORM!

It’s a menace to all Sydneysider and ‘Sydney’ values! It’s ‘un-Sydney’, it’s…VICTORIAN!

Get over it. The two games can co-exists. If it is so Victorian why do they play it in WA, SA, Tassie and the NT?
Go the Storm. Go Billy.

It’s obvious to anybody in the real world that multifootballism is a failed experiment. This is a state built on traditional Thugby League values and it’s clear that these AFL supporting types don’t want to partake of our way of life. These Muslim imams need to come out and strongly denounce AFL and wake up to the problems they face with Australian Rules within their community. If they aren’t willing to adopt our code then they can bugger off back to Victoria!
… sorry. Started channeling the nutters for a minute there.
PS: how long before Peter Debnam tries to get Middle Eastern AFL fans arrested?

I see by your distended nose that you are lying, jasonnocchio. Evolution is when something improves, no? Making rugby more like gridiron did nobody any favours.
The Aboriginal sport cited as a precursor to AFL - I dunno… It was from all accounts a free-flowing game with few rules, no offside, plenty of violence, played in a clearing by the Yarra, so the parallels are strong!
Plus blackfellas seem uniquely gifted at AFL - typically much better at reading the bounce of the funny-shaped ball and those jammy one-handed gathers.

Which plays by the CORRUPTED rules? VFA
There is NO evidence of any relationship between gayfl and aborigine games(which were probably based on English games if there was such a thing as a “mumarki”) except that ONE of the creators knew something about the local aborigines.
AGAINST THIS IS THE FACT THAT THE SAME SAID PERSON WENT TO THE RUGBY SCHOOL IN ENGLAND, and MANY of the ORIGINAL WRITERS were aware of the CAMBRIDGE RULES, a game that also had NO OFFSIDE RULE.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TheCambridgeRules#CambridgeRulescirca_1856
I INVITE ALL TO MAKE A SIMILAR STORY TO PROVE THAT RUGBY LEAGUE IS DESCENDED FROM AN ABORIGINE AUSTRALIAN GAME.
“blackfellas seem uniquely gifted at AFL - typically much better at reading the bounce of the funny-shaped ball”
The funny shaped ball is descended from England, idiot, and “blackfellas” as you put it, are also very good at RL. Have a look at Greg Inglis.
Lets go back to your definition of evolved:”Evolution is when something improves”,
That is why the offside rule was introduced in 1863. For improvement.
What was the Victorian response?
Punching the ball and bouncing the ball to slow down the speed which a player can run at and transfer the ball. A corruption of the highest magnitude.
Lets face it. The only reason that you guys play by your stupid rules is that an English soccer team never toured Australia back in the day and so you kept playing by your corrupted rules.
RUGBY, however, moved with the times, except for a few private schools, and and rugby supporters adopted the new “league football” rules with enthusiasm. They were a vast improvement and their popularity in England, until the fascist culutural assault, meant a genuinely interesting multi-leagued international competition.
Attendances at the original Rugby World Cup were actually quite high until the early seventies.
On topic: What a PR flop for the moslem community.

patrick - the term gayfl is pretty offensive, please don’t use it.
let’s not get into a bollocks debate over which code is greater - there’s clearly not going to be agreement and it’s been done to death.
can we just get back on topic?
i think it’s a great thing for el hilaly to do - he’s saying that while he’s a bulldogs fan and he’s disappointed they’re out, like any other sydneysider he’s happy that the swans are a big chance to go back-to-back. top stuff.

Remind me, the name of this blog is….?
What’s more, the implication of Jason’s post was surely some sort of joking comparative assessment, no? Hardly off-topic.
Good Lord though, Patrick. Your CAPS LOCKED FOAMING TIRADE (are you or have you ever been an avian?) has convinced me. I am a homosexual. Now to rid myself of these teeming female admirers.
Shoo, you bouncy vixens, I like AFL don’t you know.
p.s. NRL advocates protesteth too much on matters sexual, methinks. All that arse-grabbing, the rampant humping at the breakdown - a tad suss, no doubt about it.

This post went better than expected.
On the whole gAyFL thing, I prefer to call it AwFuL myself. While classing the game as one for poofters and the cocaine snorting latte set (with some degree of truth) it degrades the long term appeal of Rugby League.
No game needs to be beholden to its stereotype, they should be judged on their merits on the field.
That being said I’m still going to judge through stereotypes…I just know that I shouldn’t.
