Too Much Information, Janette
The First Lady of Australian Politics is fast becoming an election liability in her own right, as part of a well orchestrated campaign to prove that she is much more than an over-dressed political appendage. In her first master stroke, of course, she spilled the beans on her influence on national policy and dished the goss on those hot hot political strategies that have served The Man so well in taking his career TO THE EXTREME:
“You talk about a whole lot of things when you are trying to convince people to do things,” Mrs Howard said.
“But you don’t go back and honour every single one of those unless you have made a firm commitment about it, and John wasn’t into making firm commitments.”
Now today’s very special revelation that Mrs Howard has a Birthday Surprise for her celebrated husband:
The Chief of Defence Force, Angus Houston, led about 200 Australian troops and police standing in a sweltering aircraft hangar in Dili in three cheers for the Prime Minister on his 68th birthday.
“That made it easy,” Mrs Howard said, adding that she had a secret gift for her husband.
Maybe this is supposed to humanise the PM, I don’t know, but YUCK YUCK YUCK national news ahoy. Guesses are invited for what sort of secret gift the lovely Janette might give her Backflip Prone Man of Steel.
